2019 Sino British Summit - “Dialogue for the Future: opportunities for two societies” will be held at The Dorchester Hotel on the 21st of February.

Dr Elizabeth Kiss
CEO of Rhodes Trust
Warden of Rhodes House at University of Oxford
Dr Elizabeth Kiss is an American philosopher whose research focus is on moral and political philosophy. She is also an academic administrator and has been the first female Warden of Rhodes House at the University of Oxford and CEO of the Rhodes Trust since 2018. Dr Kiss was the first female student at Davidson College to become a Rhodes Scholar. She used to serve as President of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia until 2018. During her time there, she devised the SUMMIT curriculum at the college, which emphasises leadership development and global learning as its core curriculum. For her accomplishments, she was awarded the American Council on Education Award for Institutional Transformation in 2017. In addition, she was named one of the Eight Most Influential People in US Higher Education by the Chronicle of Higher Education in 2017 and was honoured the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III Chief Executive Leadership Award in 2018.

Professor Yike Guo is a Professor of Computing Science at Imperial College London and the Founding Director of Data Science Institute at Imperial College. He is also the co-founder and CTO of tranSMART Foundation. He is a pioneer in technology for data-driven scientific research, and has developed innovative workflow platforms for internet-based scientific data analysis, a key engineering achievement in the UK e-science programme. He was awarded as one of the ten most influential data scientists in China by China’s National Information Centre in 2017.
Ms Katharine Carruthers
Director of the UCL Institute of Education Confucius Institute for Schools
Ms Katharine Carruthers is the Director of UCL Institute of Education (IOE) Confucius Institute for Schools. Being known nationally and internationally as an expert teacher and an experienced examiner of Chinese, she is the series editor of the textbooks for teaching Chinese to 11-16 year olds and Chief Examiner for Cambridge Pre-U Mandarin Chinese and Principle Examiner for IGCSE Mandarin for Cambridge International Examinations. In December 2011, she was delighted to receive a Confucius Institute Outstanding Contribution award in recognition of her work in this field.
