Shen Guofang is former Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations (1998 – 2002), former spokesman of the Foreign Ministry (1996 – 1998), former Chief Editor of the World Affairs Press, now First Vice Chairman of China Foundation for International Studies (CFIS). Graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University, Ambassador Shen served as Attaché to Chinese Embassy to the Kingdom of Nepal (1981 – 1983), Information Department at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1983 – 1984), Secretary of General Office at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1984 – 1993), as well as Deputy Director General of Information Department at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1993 – 1996).
